Ultrasound Imaging (Including Echocardiogram & OB)
Ultrasound Imaging (Including Echocardiogram & OB)
Ultrasound Imaging (Including Echocardiogram (heart ultrasound) & OB) uses high-frequency sound waves to image various areas of the body without radiation. Like fluoroscopy, ultrasound can capture structural movement in real-time. With these capabilities, technologists and doctors can note structural differences more readily. Ultrasound is commonly used to view the body to evaluate symptoms such as pain, swelling, or infection. Some frequently performed ultrasound exams at WRHS include the gallbladder, Echocardiogram, OB, breast, carotid, venous, and various procedures and biopsies. -
Nuclear Imaging
Nuclear Imaging
Nuclear Imaging employs minimal doses of radioactive substances to diagnose and manage various medical conditions. These procedures serve both diagnostic and therapeutic purposes. Radiopharmaceuticals are combined with kits designed to target specific organs or systems within the body. Typically administered intravenously, the radiopharmaceuticals emit gamma rays, which are then detected by nuclear medicine scanners to generate detailed images of the body. Nuclear medicine encompasses a range of procedures, including cardiac stress tests, thyroid scans, kidney scans, total body bone scans, lung scans, and more.
