A message from Matt Shahan, CEO, West River Health Services: “It is with sadness that we have accepted the resignation of Dr. Jennifer Sheffield, as she moves to be closer to family. Dr. Sheffield has been a physician here at WRHS since 2012 caring for patients in Hettinger, New England, Mott and Scranton.  Please join me in thanking Dr. Sheffield for her 7 years of service to our patients and the organization.”

Statement from Dr. Sheffield regarding her resignation: “With my sisters passing on Thanksgiving we’ve tried different options for taking care of my mom that have not worked. I’ll be moving home to help care for her, so rather than take a leave of absence, I’ve resigned as I don’t know how long I will be gone. I have enjoyed my time at WRHS becoming part of great medical facility and community. I’ve learned invaluable lessons from the doctors, nurses, patients and staff, and wish WRHS all the best. In this move I’ll miss so many of you who will always be in my prayers. I’m also thankful for everyone’s support during my sisters passing and with the decision to move to help my mom.“

Dr. Sheffield will work with WRHS through the end of May.
