Giving Hearts Wrestling Night was a HUGE Success

82001474 2654429284787927 1590443616822624256 oOur first-ever “Giving Hearts Wrestling Night with the NightHawks and BuccaDawgs” was a HUGE success. And not only monetarily. It also went a long way toward building positive relationships with our area communities. According to the Hettinger School officials, 275 adults and 90 students entered Hettinger’s Big Gym for this event, the only wrestling dual of the season for the NightHawks. West River Health Services, the WRHS Foundation and the Sunrise Foundation underwrote this event, so admission was FREE! THANK YOU to all three organizations.

A very SPECIAL THANK YOU to Kim Schalesky and Cindy Ham for greeting the public and securing 72 gifts, ranging from $2 to $200! And THANKS Dr. Kludt and family, plus the kids at the Drug & Alcohol Coalition’s New Year’s Eve party, for creating amazing decorations!

And THANKS to our gracious sponsors of the 100+ “Let’s Pin Down More Top Docs” t-shirts for little kid wrestlers, varsity wrestlers, coaches and statisticians – Farmers Union Insurance, Dakota Community Bank, Southwest Ag and Dacotah Bank. We truly appreciate your giving for our kids.

THANKS  to our “Live Couch Auction” $100 matching Gift Sponsors – RZ Motors, Peacock Mercantile, Uecker Yards, Kees Trucking,  Dakota Community Bank and Southwest Ag. And how bout our Live Couch Auction winning bidders? Dick Vliem (Lodgepole Store & Propane) and Cori Lien (Frontier Insurance Agaency won the NightHawks Couch bids and Gary Miller Ranch and Sarah Martian (Nodak Insurance) purchased the BuccaDwg couch. Kathy Kennedy and Randy Burwick did some terrific pushing! All of the couch sitters were served popcorn, water and Gatorade. Plus, they saw all of the awesome action up close and personal! Overall, the Live Couch Auction brought in $1,625! These dollars are being split 50/50 between the two Foundations.

Overall, for the entire night, the two Foundations brought in nearly $6,000!

Next on the WRHS Foundation’s slate is our “Wine’d Up For Giving Hearts Day – Wine & Dessert Tasting Night” on Saturday, February 1, 5pm at the Pastime Bar & Steakhouse. $25 advance tickets are on sale now at wrhs.com, from Kim Schalesky in WRHS Administration, from Ted Uecker at the WRHS Foundation (ext.6187 or 567-3666), the Pastime Bar and Kennedy’s Fresh Foods.
