Foundation Raises $4,300 at KBJM Farm & Home Show in Lemmon!

The West River Health Services Foundation attended the 25th Annual KBJM Farm & Home Show at the Beeler Center in Lemmon, SD on Friday, March 8th. Over 50 different vendors were on hand for this Annual event on North Main Street in Lemmon.

Of course, the West River Health Services Foundation brought over their carload of homemade pies baked by Sylvia Engle for the 5th straight year! This year, instead of only raffling off eight pies to eight drawing winners, the Foundation gave a slice of a dozen different pies to everyone who gifted $10 or more to the New Lemmon Clinic! In this way, everyone received something for their gift. In addition, we had a few drawings for full pies (Donna Smith and Vicki Fogerty were the lucky drawing winners!) Plus, those who made huge gifts of $250 or more (Dave & Julie Loper, Paul & Gwen Huffman, Pat & Connie Bootz, Wayne Kling and Mavis Even), had the option to receive a full pie as well. We definitely had the tastiest booth at the Show! Thank you Sylvia Engle and all financial supporters of our new Lemmon Clinic.

We also had three, free drawings for our area youth on this day, including a Youth Doctor Kit, a MN Twins Puzzle and a Donut Puzzle. The lucky youth drawing winners were Isiah Hunter, Kale Kling and Hadley Schweitzer. In addition, we gave away 25 character balloons to area youth for the 25th Anniversary of the Show. Enjoy kids!

Overall, our WRHS Foundation received 50 gifts totaling $4,300 and earmarked for the new WRHS Lemmon Dacotah Clinic. The gifts ranged from $5 to $1,000! Now we are at $297,060 raised toward our $300,000 Fundraising Goal. Who will push us over the top? Our LOCAL contractors (Doug Peterson & Associates, Stock’s Electric, B & C Plumbing, Custom 101 and more) are working hard daily and are right on schedule. We look forward to the Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony during Boss Cowman Weekend on Friday, July 12th, from 1-5pm. We are planning tours, music, food and refreshments for everyone to stop by and enjoy. Maybe even our Governors from North and South Dakota will meet at the Border and say a few words!

As always, we had a tremendous day at the KBJM Lemmon Farm & Home Show. The staff at KBJM Radio and the Beeler Center are always so accommodating and friendly. In addition, our WRHS Foundation wants to be more engaged than ever before with our area communities, so plan to see more of us at your functions, parades, and community events.
