The West River Health Services Foundation, Kennedy’s Fresh Foods, and the Pastime Bar & Steakhouse are inviting everyone from around the world to participate in our first-ever “Wine’d Up for Giving Hearts Day – Wine & Dessert Tasting” on Saturday, February 1, 5:00pm at the Pastime Bar & Steakhouse on Main Street in downtown Hettinger, ND. Kyle Kennedy has wanted to host one of these “Wine Tasting’s” ever since we stopped hosting them for fundraisers at the Hettinger Country Club nearly ten years ago. His goal for this event is to raise $10,000+ for our Giving Hearts Day effort for more TOP DOCS; as he and others realize how important our medical system is to the health and economy of our community.
Individual advance tickets for $25 are now on sale for this exciting “Wine & Dessert Tasting” event, which includes a commemorative wine glass from Kennedy’s, tasting of 25-30 different wines, numerous desserts from local bakers and appetizers from the Pastime. Even if you don’t care for wine, the Pastime Bar surely has water, pop, beer and mixed drinks to wet your whistle! And how ‘bout enjoying the amazing desserts, appetizers and auctions! To purchase your $25 advance tickets, see Kim Schalesky at WRHS Administration, Ted Uecker at the WRHS Foundation (701-567-3666), Kennedy’s Fresh Foods or the Pastime Bar. We are hoping to sell 200 tickets so we can raise $5,000 immediately for more TOP DOCS for Giving Hearts Day. We might sell $30 tickets at the door, depending on the crowd. Therefore it is imperative, if you want to guarantee your entry, you get your tickets purchased in advance of the event and arrive early.
The entire Pastime Bar & Steakhouse will be opened for this event only on Saturday, February 1st, starting at 5pm. Only with an advance ticket or possibly a $30 ticket at the door, will you be allowed to enter. Plus, it’s really for a terrific cause – more TOP DOCS for your healthcare!
In addition to the amazing commemorative wine glass, wines, desserts and appetizers, we will also have a smaller Silent and Live Auction. The bundled Silent Auction item bidding begins when the doors open at 5:00pm and runs 30 minutes after the Live Auction. Hopefully the Live Auction will start at approximately 7:00-7:30pm. Part of our Live Auction prizes include a 4-5 day Royal Caribbean Cruise to the Bahamas or the Caribbean; tickets to the Maroon 5 Concert in Fargo; a sit down four-course meal with drinks evening for 12 (including pickup, delivery and take home driving service) at the Hettinger Country Club (provided by Kyle Kennedy and Tony Muggerud); possibly a unique “progressive dinner” event from our WRHS Physician Staff, and more. The Silent Auction items will be bundled into unique and interesting categories. In addition to the ticket sales, Silent and Live Auction Sales, Kennedy’s will be taking orders for bottles or cases of wine that you’d like to purchase on this evening. A percentage of these wine sales will be gifted back to the WRHS Foundation as well. Thank you Kennedy’s and the Pastime for being such terrific partners with our WRHS Foundation. TOGETHER we can and we will reach our $400,000 goal for Physician Recruitment Endowment or our TOP DOCS fund. Initially we thought it might take us eight years at $50,000 per year. Now it appears that we might reach our goal in 3-4 years! There’s no doubt we need more TOP DOCS at WRHS. With our area community’s continued terrific support, we can achieve even more top-notch healthcare for our loyal patients, “close to home.” Get your tickets! Onward!
