Physicians Honored
Drs. Kent R. Hoerauf and Brian G. Willoughby, internal medicine and geriatric specialist physicians at West River, were both honored with the Dean’s Special Recognition Award for Outstanding Volunteer Faculty at commencement ceremonies May 16 at the UND School of Medicine and Health Sciences in Grand Forks. The Doctor of Medicine Degree was granted to 55 students.
The School of Medicine and Health Sciences relies on more than 900 part-time or volunteer faculty in over 30 communities throughout the state to educate medical students and residents. They assist in teaching the patient-centered curriculum and conducting performance-based assessments of the professional competence of the 242 students enrolled in the four-year Doctor of Medicine program.
Others receiving the award were Drs. Thomas F. Arnold, Dickinson; Rebecca L. Caillier, Fargo; Mary K. Holm, Fargo; Jay R. Huber, Bismarck; Nathan L. Kobrinsky, Fargo; Robert F. Sanke, Minot; Michael A. Schirado, Bismarck; James VanLooy, Grand Forks; and Peter L. White, Bismarck.
