Insurance Information
If you
have medical insurance coverage, out staff will prepare your
insurance claims for all services rendered at West River Health
Services locations and submit these claims to your insurance
company. There is no charge for this service. It is the patient’s
responsibility, however, to provide our Patient Financial Services Manger
with required insurance information. We need the address of your
insurance company, your policy number, the type of policy (family
or single) and the effective date of insurance coverage.
Medicare
Medicare has two billing parts. Medicare Part A covers inpatient
hospital services. Medicare Part B covers clinic services, physician
fees and outpatient hospital services.
Your employer or insurance agent can provide you with coverage information. Details on Medicare benefits are available at your local Social Security office, 1-800-772-1213.
Medical Assistance (Medicaid)
West River Health Services participates with the state Medicaid
programs of Iowa, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota,
and South Dakota. This participation allows West River Health
Services to provide services to and bill for patients from these
states, with some restrictions. However, individual coverage
may depend on your obtaining a written pre-authorization from
your state Medicaid program.
Co-pays will be expected to be paid at the time of service.
Managed Care/Preferred Provider Organizations/Blue
Cross Policies
Managed care plans and/or preferred provider organizations
(PPOs) may deny payment or reduce benefits if medical care is
obtained outside of the established network or authorization
of the plan. To avoid denial or reduction of benefits, it is
to your advantage to:
- Contact your insurance company representative or your primary
care physician to determine plan requirements or limitations
to receiving care outside of the network.
- Inform
West River Health Services of any network/PPO relationship
at the time you request an appointment and on the "Authorization
to Release Information" form you will be asked to sign.
Co-pays
will be expected to be paid at the time of service.
Bills
West River Health Services bills consist of West River Regional
Medical Center, Hettinger Clinic, Lemmon Clinic, Mott Clinic,
New England Clinic, Scranton Clinic, Bowman Clinic, and West River
Foot and Ankle Center in Dickinson. You may
receive two monthly statements for services received, one for
clinic services and one for any services received at the hospital.
- The West River Regional Medical Center statement is on white
paper and includes charges for your room, meals, nursing care,
laboratory services, radiology services, physical, speech,
and occupational therapies, diabetes management, respiratory
therapy and other related services.
- The Hettinger/WR Health Clinic statement is on yellow paper
and includes services for physician services and tests.
Fee Estimates
If you need an estimate of charges for services you will be receiving, please contact our Patient Financial Services Manger at (701) 567-6152 or e-mail anthonyl@wrhs.com
Pre-certification, Pre-authorization, and Second Surgical
Opinion
West River Health Services will file to any insurance company
authorized by you; however, please contact your employer or insurance
company if you have questions about coverage. An insurance contract
between your insurance company and West River Health Services
does not guarantee that your claims will be paid in full. You
are responsible for payment of services not authorized by your
insurance company. Please contact the Utilization Review Office
at (701) 567-6263 with your pre-authorization information before
calling to schedule an appointment.
Workers' Compensation
West River Health Services participates with most state Workers'
Compensation programs. However, you may be responsible for portions
of your bill not paid by Workers' Compensation.
Authorization from your Workers' Compensation carrier is required
before scheduling an appointment. West River Health Services
will file a claim for authorized services.
Payment
You are responsible for payment of your hospital and clinic
accounts. When your visit is complete, please make financial
arrangements for payment on your account. You may do this at
the Patient Financial Services.
Co-pays will be expected at the time of service. If you have
no insurance, you will be expected to pay $50.00 at the time
of service.
For your
convenience, West River Health accepts cash; personal, travelers,
or cashier checks; bank debit cards; and Discover, Master Card,
American Express, and Visa credit cards.
