Western Horizon news-
March 2010 has come and gone. Our Easter days sort of pushed this little article way into April. That is my part of “Change”, at least everyone is talking about change so I might as well contribute, Ha. Well seriously we have had some changes here at our assisted living facility, as a matter of act we have an all new LOOK. Because, about march 10th, yes the day it snowed Chad and his men came an put new linoleum down in the commons area and the kitchen and entrance hallway. There were many comments, some liked it, some wasn’t sure, etc, but then the hallways were evacuated of all plants, seats etc, first at the north end of our hall. Then the south end , the office and finally the lounge, as they laid all new carpet and a nice new LOOK we have. Thank you guys.
Our birthdays received different treatment this month. Agnes Braaten celebrated two times and we were invited to participate. Arlinda and family came on the Sunday before her birthday and then more family came on the day of her birthday. The following day, Agnes was taken to the Care Center, where she is still happy and doing well. Karen Kobilansky had a birthday the 26th and Helen Gordon’s daughter sent over cake and ice cream on the 30th and Karen shared that day of celebration with Helen and all of us.
We had another tenant council meeting on the 10th. And the Holland Center church group came by on Sunday the 14th for a sing-a-long and scripture and prayer. We always appreciate you people and I thank you sincerely. The Sons of Norway organization held a meeting here the 21st, and the Dakota Prairie Helping Hands brought delicious pies and NAME THAT TUNE game. Many thanks you all.
Saturday card games have been quite regular this month. Dick Hanshew brought a new board game and showed them how to play it. The game is called Sequence. Don’t think it has been played a lot but we thank Dick for his introduction to the game and bringing those things needed to play it.
Weather wise, the March began with fog and frost and then a good snow storm and finally toward the end warmer temperatures with the wind but we still have snow around our building as I write this.
I wish to announce this is my last news article from the assisted living facility. I have decided to move elsewhere and will be leaving here at the end of April. I have been here 12 years and they have been very good years and I am grateful to all who helped to make it good for me . My telephone number will remain the same if anyone is wondering.
Good-bye and God Bless.
